THE ART OF INTERVENTION. ONGOING EVENT SERIES

Cooperation with Kunstmuseum Basel Gegenwart, Theater Basel, the University of Basel Departement Gesellschaftswissenschaften, and Kaserne Basel

In 2019, the event series will focus on "family narratives" in the performing arts, thereby deepening our exchange with Theater Basel and new theater space Kaserne Basel.

Winter/spring 2020 will be marked by critical reflection on the themes of the exhibition "Circular Flow. Conditions of Growth" at Kunstmuseum Basel Gegenwart (from 1 Dec 2019 to 1 April 2020). It will boast applied and theory-based seminars for students at the University, public talks at the Kunstmuseum, and more.

Public talks: Early 2020 at Kunstmuseum Basel Gegenwart.

The 2018 event series was inspired by the exhibition "War Games" of Martha Rosler & Hito Steyerl at Kunstmuseum Basel Gegenwart. It boasted a lecture series for students at the University, public talks and round tables at the Kunstmuseum, student led guided tours through the exhibition as well as interventions at performance space Kaserne Basel. The student-run blog The Art of Intervention gives insight into our inspiring exchange about war and games, arts and politics, censorship and artistic modes of resistance, the museum as battlefield, and dismantling the master's house.

Past public talks: 2 Oct, 16 Oct, 13 Nov, 27 Nov and 29 Nov 2018, 6-8pm at Kunstmuseum Basel Gegenwart.

Please consult The Art of Intervention blog or the Kunstmuseum Basel for further details.
